FAQs

Q. What should I do to prepare for my Brazilian wax?

A. If this is your first Brazilian, just take a deep breath and relax…it’s really not as bad as you think and it DOES get better! If you normally shave, book your appointment for 4 weeks after your last shave. Although everyone is different so here’s the benchmark…hair needs to be at least 1/4 inch long in order for the wax to effectively grip it. If you don’t shave or it’s been a while, go ahead and trip those bad boys a few days beforehand. If the hair is too long they could break, and honestly it causes you to feel it more. Lightly exfoliate a day or 2 prior to your appointment and stay hydrated, drink that water.

Q. Can’t you just trim the hair for me?

A. The thing is that trimming while on the treatment table will be a mess as there’s no way to contain the trimmed hair and sanitation is our number 1 priority at Skinfinity. I suggest sitting on the throne and carefully trim, so you’ll have minimal cleanup.

Q. I did it…I got my Brazilian wax. Now what do I do?

A. Yayyyyy you made it🥳! Just some simple steps over the next 24-48 hours will help you to keep you skin smooth:

  • Don’t touch the area with unwashed hands

  • Wear loose-fitting clothing

  • Avoid chlorinated pools/saunas/hot tubs

  • Wait about 3 days then lightly exfoliate the area a few times a week. Try not to over-exfoliate though, just some dry body brushing before going into the shower would be sufficient (like with authentic Bahamian sponge) or very lightly with a body scrub.

  • Moisturize your skin

If this is your first Brazilian we recommend your next 3-4 treatments to be 3 weeks apart. This will help to get the hairs in the same growth cycle and give you the best result. Then your appointments can be pushed to every 4-6 weeks. Please DO NOT SHAVE in between appointments and don’t wait for all of the hair to fully grow back as you’ll be starting again from scratch.

Q. Can I get waxed while I’m pregnant?

A. Yes you can!

Q. I’m a guy, can I get waxed too?

A. Yes you can!

Q. When can’t I wax?
A. 1) If you’re using any retinol products in the area you wish to be waxed.
2) If you’re taking Accutane or stopped taking for less than 12 months.
3) If you’re sunburned, recent surgery, pustules, in the area to be waxed.
4) If you have uncontrolled diabetes
Please disclose any medical conditions you may have before we wax you and please freshen up prior appointment.

Q. It’s that time of the month, can I still get a bikini or Brazilian wax?

A. Yes you can. Just please be sure to utilize the cleansing wipes always provided and have a fresh tampon. Also know that during this time our bodies can be more sensitive so you may experience more discomfort during your session.

Q. I’m just getting a facial, why do I have to complete a form?
A. Our facials are results driven and use active ingredients and electrical modalities to enhance product penetration. Some of these ingredients and/or modalities should be avoided when certain factors are present. So please be truthful and complete the form for your protection…everything you write on the form is held in the strictest confidence.
